  2. As true as any weather forecast can be (so 50/50). It was taken at night.

  3. Sunsets are easier to see - sunrise requires much more effort, and I am so not a morning person!

  4. I am not a morning person either - an owl through and through!

  5. I love a sunrise! There is no one around. It is so peaceful!

  6. If there's no one around it must be for a good reason, right? For example it's insanely early ;)

  7. I wish I was a morning person, because on the rare occasions I'm up that early it really is beautiful. Having said that, my bedroom is lit up by three uncovered skylights, that plus the incredibly loud dawn chorus means that I'm often aware of sunrise, especially in summer (I just bury my head back under the duvet :) )

Yeah, pretty natural response to such a barbarian hour! As you see I am an incurable owl! Lucky you having these skylights!

  9. Lucky you having these skylights!
I live in what was originally the stables back in the 19th century, so the upstairs was originally the hayloft - and without skylights it would be incredibly dark in the daytime. It's probably possible to put blinds in them, but we've lived with them so long now we're used to them being bare.

  10. If there are no higher buildings in the vicinity it is fine without blinds I suppose. You live in the old stables? That's original INDEED! Have you adapted the building on your own?

  11. No-one really overlooks us. No, the builders did it - the last time it was adapted was in 1998, and we moved in in October of that year (my daughter was ten months old, I was still on maternity leave) but it hasn't been a stables for many decades, probably not since the early 1900s.
