Poor little mouse! The spring on those things is so tight, he could bump them on the side and they might go off. Plus a mouse could use his hands to tip it a little and then he gets the cheese. You need one of those big sticks that the guy at the end of I Had Trouble Getting to Solla Sollew was carrying.
I was thinking after I posted that I must really be an optimist. I looked at that picture and figured, if I was the mouse, I would not only get through that but get through it with all the cheese. He has got a helmet on. He is ready.

Some mice are really clever but I feel I could do with a stick...I am going to look for it pretty soon!
